I had to take a break for a while, with a 5 day weekend during Thanksgiving week and the family out here from California there was no time to post. Tons have happened since I put up a half hearted attempt to wake up Kobe Bryant but nonetheless here are some of my thoughts of the past two weeks:
Can the NBA legally require Stephon Mabury to take tests to diagnose multiple personality disorder, bi-polarity or just deem him legally retarded? I understand that Donnie Walsh "doesn't buy out contracts" but jesus H I'm so damn sick of this saga. As a fan I want this resolved. Hell I wanted this resolved before the draft but here we are. Can you just buyout this head tattooed moron and we can all move on and pray that the 2010 Free Agency gods are on our favor?
Speaking of legally retarded, I'm so sick of Plaxico Burress. You are the most overrated WR in the league, the Giants can win without you and they will win without you. Go away, sign with Oakland next year, take a couple years to realize how bad you fucked up and then make a comeback like Randy Moss.
Looks like my Trojans are going to get yet another trip to the Rose Bowl and yet again will show the nation why the Big 10 cannot match up with USC. I don't think Penn State stands a chance. They are remotely more athletic than Ohio State on offense but again the game is in LA and I predict a 38-7 ass kicking.
Alabama vs. Florida for the SEC Championship game is going to be huge: 1. Will Percy Harvin play? 2. Will Parker Wilson whatever the hell his name is be able to move the ball down the field? I like the Gators in the contest and shattering the Saban dream season. On the Big 12 side, I don't think there is any way that Oklahoma loses to Missouri. I got Florida-Oklahoma in the BCS TItle Game. With Texas-Alabama playing for "3rd" place.
The Jets went from a trendy pick to go far in the playoffs after they dismantled undefeated Tennessee, to looking absolutely abysmal against the Broncos. It was an embarrassment how bad Peyton Hillis and Jay Cutler made the Jets so called wonderful defense look.
I like the war of words between Barkley and Lebron.
"If I was LeBron James, I would shut the hell up," Barkley said in the Wednesday interview. "I'm a big LeBron fan. He's a stud. You gotta give him his props. I'm getting so annoyed he's talking about what he's going to do in two years. I think it's disrespectful to the game. I think it's disrespectful to the Cavaliers." -- Barkley
"He's stupid. That's all I've got to say about that," James said Friday night before the Cavaliers' game against Golden State.
My 1st team all NBA right now is: PG: Chris Paul, SG: Dwyane Wade , SF: Lebron James, PF: Chris Bosh, C: Dwight Howard
My 1st team you piss me off right now: PG: Gilbert Arenas, SG: Michael Redd, SF: Tracy McGrady, PF: Michael Beasley, C: Jermaine O'Neal.
The Chargers are an absolute joke this year, they should be ashamed of their miserable performances in close games. If they were smart they should tank the final games of the season hoping to get a higher draft pick and fill their need of "heart".
It looks like the once brilliant Patriots assistant coaches, Romeo Crennel and Charlie Weis, are both going to be canned this year. Nothing made me happier to see Syracuse come back and beat the Irish. Oh yah and the golden boy Brady Quinn also going down for the year.
Who would have thought that Larry Johnson single handily ruined and recovered my fantasy football season.
